19th & Northern Retail Center
Despite its excellent location, this 1970's era retail center had an increasingly higher vacancy rate as time went by. Since the existing buildings were of quality construction, the decision was made to renovate, rather than replace the existing structures. The design challenge became how to present a new look with minimal cost and disruption to existing tenants. Through the use of simple, colorful forms constructed mainly on the roofs, the building heights were raised, the image updated, and the center will soon be at 100% occupancy.
